Birding Richmond

The Richmond area has a tremendous diversity of habitats from river bank woodlands and city parks to open fields and woodland swamps. Perched on the edge of the James River, these various ecosystems attract an equally wide range of bird species diversity. Below is a list of some of the Richmond Audubon Society’s favorite birding hot spots, may of which we offer guided field trips to. Checklists are now available to give you an idea of what species you might encounter as these locations.
