Speaker: Penny S. Reynolds, Ph.D. from the VCU Department of Emergency Medicine, and also the current RAS Field Trips Chair, will present a very interesting and entertaining program entitled Birding in the Antarctic: Penguins (and more). During
the program she will show pictures taken on her recent trip to Tierra del Fuego and the Antarctic Peninsula, and talk about penguins, and conservation concerns for the southern polar regions.Due to a scheduling conflict with the regular member's meeting location the March members meeting will be moved to the new Twin Hichory Library (Next to Deep Run High School in Glen Allen in the West End) for one meeting only. There will not be a pre-meeting dinner for March because of this temporary relocation.

THRASHER DELIVERY NOTICE: In efforts to better use our resources and to utilize the convenience of information technology, RAS has initiated the online version of our newsletter as our primary distribution method. This will make the information available all day, every day, from anywhere with internet access, including your public library via the internet. We do not intend to do this at the expense of your enjoyment though. We want you to get your copy of "The Thrasher" in the mail if you want to receive it that way. Starting with the January-February, 2008 issue, existing members WILL NOT receive a printed copy of "The Thrasher" in the U.S. Mail as they have in the past; UNLESS they have previously communicated that option to us. If you HAVE NOT selected either option, please take a moment to do so - Thrasher Delivery Form. If you would like a hard copy mailed to you, you MUST contact us and be a RAS member. If you have already given us your decision there is no need to send another response. New members coming to Richmond Audubon Society through National Audubon will get at least one issue of the newsletter so they will have a chance to see it before making their decision. If you are not a member and would like to become one visit the Membership Area. If you join The Audubon Society through RAS directly, we will send "The Thrasher" to you automatically, if you requested that on your application. Thanks for your cooperation with this transition.
