Richmond Audubon Society (RAS) is a chapter of the National Audubon Society (NAS). It is dedicated to the observation and conversation of birds and other wildlife. Our members participate in fellowship, local conservation efforts, habitat restoration, and monitoring of applicable legislation. We have over 1400 members throughout Central Virginia, made up of a diverse group of people from various backgrounds and birding experience levels. We are blessed with an active talented group with a wide range of interests including: photography, kayaking and canoeing, bird banding, hiking, gardening, and enjoyment almost any aspect of nature you can imagine.

RAS Exectutive Committee
Six elected officers make up the Executive Committee: President, a First Vice President, a Second Vice President, a Third Vice President, a Secretary, and a Treasurer. The Executive Committee has supervisory responsibility for the affairs of the Society between Board meetings and such other responsibilities as the Board may authorize.

The Board controls and conducts of business of the Society. The RAS Board determines the policies of the Society and is made up of the elected officers, immediate past-president, and the chairpersons of the thirteen standing service committees.

Partnerships
The Richmond Audubon Society is a highly active group that participates and supports a vast array of conservation and scientific programs and MEETINGS. Many such activities are based on partnerships with groups, businesses or individuals with simular causes.
