Richmond Audubon Society - Chapter Membership
Richmond Audubon Society (RAS) is a chapter of the National Audubon Society (NAS), is dedicated to the observation and conversation of birds and other wildlife. Our members participate in local conservation efforts, habitat restoration, and monitoring of applicable legislation. We have over 1400 members throughout Central Virginia, made up of a diverse group of people from various backgrounds, interests and birding experience levels.
Benefits
By joining the Richmond Audubon Society, members receive both National Audubon Society and local chapter membership benefits such as membership enrollment at both levels, a copy of "Audubon" Magazine, the RAS Newsletter "The Thrasher," RAS Membership Meetings and Pre-meeting Dinner, Field Trips and Events, Volunteer Opportunities. plus the RAS Website and RAS Listserv.

Come Join The Richmond Audubon Society
You are invited to join the Richmond Audubon Society membership. Come enjoy the extensive activities, benefits and fellowship of this active bird birding group. Along with the numerous benefits of membership in both the local chapter and the national organization, comes our greatest resource of all–our people. Once most people become members they stay with RAS for years. This we attribute this to our programs, partnership, continued presence and service in local environmental and conservation efforts, as well as our eduction, youth outreach (RAS Kids), and other services we provide Richmond community. Volunteer Opportunities
The Richmond Audubon Society works in conjunction with a multitude of organizations, business and groups. We have a service position for anyone no matter what your interest or skills. It is the diversity of our strong membership that allows us the gift of service to our community, our fellow man and most of all our feathered friends. Here are a few areas that are in regular need of help:
Annual Pot Luck Dinner and Auction, Development, Conservation, Legislation, Hospitality, Membership, Newsletter, Publicity, Bird Banding, Bird-a-thon, Christmas Bird Count, Education, Field Trips, Important Bird Area (IBA), Programs, Youth Outreach (RAS Kids) and more.
