RAS Kids: Wetlands Nature Photography Session

Nature Photography Intro 101

On April 28, 2008, Mary Arginteanu and other committee members of RAS Kids, introduced a group of kids from Charity Family Life to the world of Nature Photography at the James River Park's Wetlands Section in Richmond, Virginia.  For this lesson we talked with the kids about the light, light direction, stability, equipment, location, patience, subject, animal behavior and picture taking in general.  A list of four different subject objectives were suggested: Landscape, Macro, Still Life and Animal Portrait. Then we went off exploring the wetland with digital cameras donated by generous RAS members. Click on the thumbnails below to enlarge.
