About The Membership Committee

The purpose of this committee is to promote member participation by sending new members a welcome letter, current newsletter and any other pertinent materials. They assess member interests and talents and refer members to the appropriate Board members and assist members in resolving problems with their membership or subscriptions. We work with "The Thrasher" Newsletter Editor to maintain various National and Chapter membership lists. Plus we check dues and share reports from the Treasurer for errors, conveying problems to the National Audubon Society Membership Department. We provide membership information to the Board for chapter strategic planning and for submitting annual reports to the National Audubon Society.

The Society functions as a Chapter of the National Audubon Society (NAS). Members of NAS are members of the Chapter and receive full benefits offered by NAS and the Chapter. The Chapter offers to its members a variety of activities that include field trips, meetings, an annual picnic, nature-based events, and programs that promote scientific research and conservation.

Members of the Chapter come from all walks of life, experiences and talents, which have been contributing factors in the Chapter’s successes and accomplishments. Through the ongoing work of its members and network of organizations, the Chapter continues to move forward in its efforts toward the preservation of birds, other wildlife and habitat for future generations to come.
