Administration Information
RAS is an active group, both in its membership and administrative body. The Board of Directors enables and centralizes the vast array of local activities. It provides the resources for the committees and membership to carry out their efforts. This includes advocacy, cultivating new members, membership benefits, fund raising, volunteerism, record keeping, budgeting, insurance, communication, partnerships and many other resources. Committees
Auction Committee - coordinates the event and donations for this primary RAS annual fund-raiser.

Conservation Committee - Provides leadership in establishing and developing conservation goals and positions for the RAS chapter.

Cyberspace Committee - Provides and maintains RAS communication and information via the internet.

Development Committee - This committee operates on the specific goals set out by the Board. Such tasks might include securing the appropriate funding sources for RAS projects, obtaining forms and submitting grant proposals for specific RAS projects.

Education Committee - The goal of this committee is identify the audiences the chapter wishes to reach through education. We set and carry out goals for educational programming during the year.

Field Trips Committee - Organizes local chapter field trips and arranges for individual trip leaders, resources and equipment. It keeps a file of trips taken and participants in recent years with notations of results.

Hospitality Committee - Hospitality plans and arranges for refreshments for each membership meeting and other RAS MEETINGS.

Important Bird Areas (IBA) - Leas-on attands IBA events and meetings, plus communicates needed services and partnership opportunities.

Legislation Committee - The function of this committee is to keep informed about major legislative issues affecting RAS, primarily at the state and local level.

Membership Committee - promotes member participation, welcomes new members, and assess member interests and talents and refers volunteers to the appropriate Board members

Programs Committee - Responsible for obtaining speakers and programs for the chapters monthly meeting. This include one annual program on Legislation/Conservation.

Publicity Committee - This committee works closely with the Executive Board and other RAS committees to relate RAS information and cases to the public.

Newsletter Committee - This committee gathers and compiles the information, articles, committee reports and images needed to produce our award winning publication "The Thrasher."

Youth Committee (RAS Kids) - The goal of this committee is to collaborate with youth-based organizations to promote outdoor experiences to youth.
